From the Producer’s Desk

So here we are just a short few weeks away from release of the PC and 360 game of Supreme Commander 2, and I felt it would be a great time to give all of you a bit of an update as to what has been going on behind the scenes.

Right now, we are putting the final touches on the PC version and Microsoft is giving the 360 version a final once over. It feels like my little one is at the doctor and I’m pacing outside to hear the results, but pacing is the last thing I’m doing. Rather, I’ve been spending my time working on the playable demo for the PC and 360. There are so many items to consider when producing these demos that it’s a bit like a mini-project (multi language support; should we or should we not put in MP; what to tag on the end slate; the list goes on and on). Besides coming to resolutions on the contents of the demo, I’ve been reviewing plans for DLC (should we do it?). I’m one of those gamers that believes it either should be included in the full retail project, or it should really rock and roll in terms of content. I can’t forget about our friends across both sides of the pond and have been providing them assets up the wazoo in order to help them achieve success in EU and if feasible in Asia as well.

We all know that a PC game can’t just go out the door without some level of support from our great friends at AMD and Dell. Both have been so supportive of our title and efforts together that it brings a tear to my eye (well not really, but they have been great)! In return, I’ve requested that GPG begin implementation on their fantastic technology such as Eye Finity (playing the game on up to six monitors) and Alien FX to bring home the realism when playing on an Alienware compatible system. A shout out to Nvidia and Intel also for helping with compatability testing!

It’s been a fantastic journey and everyone is coming together to help spread the word of the game. We’ve gotten tons of Facebook fans, GPG forums are very active, Square Enix forums are getting exclusive Q&A’s and there is so much more yet to do to help raise awareness. I was just in GameStop earlier today chatting them up about the game, and if you have a chance please do the same. We want to spread the word and let everyone know that the next best RTS is just around the corner!

Until next time!
